WHAT ARE THE TYPES OF CABLES

WHAT ARE THE TYPES OF CABLES? Twisted Pair Cable     - STP   - UTP Coaxial Cable Fiber-Optic Cable Cables -  a thick rope of wire or nonmetallic fiber, typically used for construction, mooring ships, and towing vehicles. A n insulated wire or wires having a protective casing and used for transmitting electricity or telecommunication signals. TWISTED PAIR CABLE   cabling is a type of wiring in which two conductors of a single  circuit  are twisted together for the purposes of improving  electromagnetic compatibility .I s a type of cable made by putting two separate insulated wires together in a twisted pattern and running them parallel to each other.         STP ( Shielded Twisted Pair ) able was originally designed by IBM for token ring networks that include two individual wires covered with a foil shielding, which prevents electromagnetic interference, thereby transporting data...

WHAT IS A NETWORK OR IP ADDRESS

Image
WHAT IS A NETWORK OR IP ADDRESS? Network is a collection of computers, servers, mainframes, network devices, peripherals, or other devices connected to one another to allow the sharing of data. An excellent example of a network is the  Internet , which connects millions of people all over the world. To the right is an example image of a home network with multiple computers and other  network devices  all connected. What is a Network or IP Address? A Network or An  Internet Protocol address  ( IP address ) is a numerical label assigned to each device connected to a  computer network  that uses the  Internet Protocol  for communication. An IP address serves two main functions: host or network interface  identification  and location  addressing . Internet Protocol version 4  (IPv4) defines an IP address as a  32-bit  number. However, because of the growth of the Internet and the  deple...

WHAT ARE THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN STRAIGHT THROUGH AND CROSS OVER CABLE?

Image
DIFFERENCE BETWEEN STRAIGHT THROUGH AND CROSS-OVER CABLE STRAIGHT THROUGH CABLE is a type of twisted pair cable that is used in local area networks to connect a computer to a network hub such as a router. This type of cable is also sometimes called a patch cable and is an alternative to wireless connections where one or more computers access a router through a wireless signal. On a straight through cable, the wired pins match. Straight through cable use one wiring standard: both ends use T568A wiring standard or both ends use T568B wiring standard. The following figure shows a straight through cable of which both ends are wired as the T568B standard. CROSS - OVER CABLE is a type of Ethernet cable used to connect computing devices together directly. Unlike straight through cable, the RJ45 crossover cable uses two different wiring standards: one end uses the T568A wiring standard, and the other end use...

DEVICES

Image
Network devices -  " network "  device  is a component that makes up the  network  infrastructure such as modems, routers and switches. A "networked"  device  on the other hand refers to equipment that connects to a  network . Hub - is a simple device that directs data packets to all devices connected to it. S erves simply as a conduit for the data, enabling it to go from one device to another.  Switch - are the connectivity point of a wired network. Devices are connected via twisted - pair  cabling, one cable for each device. Router -  are completely different devices. I s hardware device designed to receive, analyze and move incoming packets to another network. Bridge - is used to divide larger network into smaller sections. It is located between two physical network segments and manages the flow of data between the two.  Network Interface Card - is a device that enables com...

NETWORK TOPOLOGY

Image
What is Network Topology? Network Topology -   refers to layout of a  network . How different nodes in a  network  are connected to each other and how they communicate is determined by the  network's topology .  Network Topology  refers to the layout of a  network  and how different nodes in a  network  are connected to each other and how they communicate.         TYPES OF NETWORK TOPOLOGY 1 .   Linear Bus Topology -  is a type of  network topology  in which each device is connected one after the other in a sequential chain.   Advantages of Linear Bus Topology: 1.   It is easy to connect a device to the network. 2.  It is cheaper than other network options. 3.  The failure of one station does not affect the rest of the network. 4.  No hubs or switches are required. 5.  Extensions can be made to the network. 6.  Multiple no...

How to be a responsible netizen

HOW TO BE A  RESPONSIBLE NETIZENS? So first why is it important to be a responsible netizen in using media? It is important for us to be responsible in using media to avoid the risk of being in danger when using the media. Being a responsible netizen in using media is very important for us nowadays, because some of us are not using the media right and responsibly. These are the ways on how to be responsible users:                      Be aware of what you post online. ( Pictures ) Always think before you post are because many people may interpret what you post. And think if it is good to other people.                                                                               ...
