WHAT ARE THE TYPES OF CABLES

WHAT ARE THE TYPES OF CABLES?

  • Twisted Pair Cable
  •   - STP
  •   - UTP
  • Coaxial Cable
  • Fiber-Optic Cable

Cables - a thick rope of wire or nonmetallic fiber, typically used for construction, mooring ships, and towing vehicles. An insulated wire or wires having a protective casing and used for transmitting electricity or telecommunication signals.

TWISTED PAIR CABLE
  •  cabling is a type of wiring in which two conductors of a single circuit are twisted together for the purposes of improving electromagnetic compatibility. Is a type of cable made by putting two separate insulated wires together in a twisted pattern and running them parallel to each other.

STP ( Shielded Twisted Pair )
  • able was originally designed by IBM for token ring networks that include two individual wires covered with a foil shielding, which prevents electromagnetic interference, thereby transporting data faster.

UTP ( Unshielded Twisted pair )
  • cables are widely used in the computer and telecommunications industry as Ethernet cables and telephone wires.

COAXIAL CABLE

  • or coax is a type of electrical cable that has an inner conductor surrounded by a tubular insulating layer, surrounded by a tubular conducting shield. Many coaxial cables also have an insulating outer sheath or jacket.

FIBER - OPTIC CABLE

  • also known as an optical-fiber cable, is an assembly similar to an electrical cable, but containing one or more optical fibers that are used to carry light.
