DEVICES
Network devices - "network" device is a component that makes up the network infrastructure such as modems, routers and switches. A "networked" device on the other hand refers to equipment that connects to a network.
Hub - is a simple device that directs data packets to all devices connected to it. Serves simply as a conduit for the data, enabling it to go from one device to another.

Transceivers - is responsible for placing signals onto the network and detecting incoming signals traveling through the same wire.

Firewall - is a networking device that can be either hardware or software based.

Hub - is a simple device that directs data packets to all devices connected to it. Serves simply as a conduit for the data, enabling it to go from one device to another.
Switch - are the connectivity point of a wired network. Devices are connected via twisted - pair cabling, one cable for each device.

Router - are completely different devices. Is hardware device designed to receive, analyze and move incoming packets to another network.

Bridge - is used to divide larger network into smaller sections. It is located between two physical network segments and manages the flow of data between the two.

Network Interface Card - is a device that enables computer to connect to the network. Is typically no longer required unless additional independent network connections are needed or some non-Ethernet.

Modem - is a device that converts the digital signals generated by a computer into analog signals that can travel over conventional phone lines.

Transceivers - is responsible for placing signals onto the network and detecting incoming signals traveling through the same wire.

Firewall - is a networking device that can be either hardware or software based.
